have been worse. All hope was lost. God’s promise of deliverance was desperately needed. The prophet probably knew as little as anyone about how the miracle would come to pass. It would have been easier for the people to believe it if some indication of how it could be accomplished had been shared. But faith is “the evidence of things not seen” (Heb. 11:1). We should never be too concerned about how God will do things; we are simply to trust Him and believe His promises. Even the first-class passengers
